“Go For Broke”

442nd Regimental Combat Team

Go For Broke” was the motto of the 442nd regimental combat team, a WWII army unit comprised of Japanese American volunteers who served the United States during a time of world war and domestic distrust. Giving everything they had with their steadfast commitment and indomitable spirit, the “Go For Broke” unit won recognition as the most decorated unit of WWII, demonstrating their valor and loyalty even while many family members and friends were interned in relocation camps across the United States.

The heroic deeds and personal sacrifices of the Go For Broke unit established historical benchmarks of honor, integrity, and determination. These are qualities we continue to support through this golf tournament and the Japanese American Community Graduation Program for high school graduates.
